The Life Safety Committee of the Ontario Fire Company was formed following a firefighter’s attendance at a Public Education in Fire Prevention Conference at the New York State Fire Training Academy, Montour Falls, NY in 1986.

In 2007 with assistance from the Fire Chief, the Board of Fire Commissioners, the Fire Company, and the Fireman’s Auxiliary a motorized fire truck called “Freddie the Fire Truck” was purchased. Freddie with the help of 1 to 2 firefighters helps get our life saving messages out to the community in a unique and special way that he hopes will be remembered when it is needed the most.
